How to register your charity
All charities (registered or unregistered) must follow Charity Commission rules and guidance.
Charities have to register with the Charity Commission if the charity has, or expects to have, an annual income of over £5,000 or it's a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
First register with the Charity Commission, then you will be able to access the online application form.
You will need:
- the name of your charity
- your bank or building society details
- your most recent accounts
- the names, dates of birth and contact details of your trustees
- proof of income (e.g. a recent bank statement as a scanned image)
Your trustees will also have to complete and sign a declaration of eligibility and responsibility form.
