Welcome to the Smile Trustee Network
The Smile Trustee Network is an expansion of Smile’s Trustee Academy programme, which aims to upskill and develop the knowledge of trustees across Hull and East Yorkshire as well as attracting new trustees onto trustee boards.
The Network has been created to make trustee training more accessible, providing more opportunities for trustees to develop knowledge and build confidence through a range of face to face and online sessions, access to useful resources, advice, guidance, and networking.
We recognise how vital trustees are to running a successful charity, both at a grass roots level (where there are few or no paid employees, and trustees take a more operational role in the charity), as well as at a more strategic level where the charities have operational staff, and the trustees are there to guide and oversee. Either way, the Trustee Network aims to develop knowledge and confidence to strengthen trustee board within charities.
Key aims of the Trustee Network:
- Develop the skills, confidence, and potential of trustee boards.
- Inspire and connect new trustees to great causes.
- Create a supportive Network of trustees across the region.
Trustee Network Structure:
The Trustee Network offers three programme models, Access all Areas, New to Trusteeship and Trustee Academy.
- Access all Areas is for Charities to offer their trustees access to face to face and online learning and resources.
- New to Trusteeship is for new trustees to access online learning and resources.
- Trustee Academy is for individuals considering becoming a trustee to access online learning to gain insight and knowledge about the role of a trustee.
Membership:
The Network is a membership programme for charities.
Thanks to the continued support and sponsorship from Smailes Goldie Group, firstly for the Trustee Academy and now the Trustee Network, we can offer free membership places to charities with a turnover of less than £20,000 a year.
For Charities with a turnover of more than £20,000, there is a £100 annual membership fee.
Funded places are also available for individuals looking to join the ‘New to Trusteeship’ or ‘Trustee Academy’ programmes.
