Free Introduction to FASD Training – Tuesday 23 June 2026
Parents, carers, family members and professionals are invited to join a free online training session designed to increase understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
Hosted by East Yorkshire Parent Carer Forum, this one-hour introductory session will take place on Tuesday 23 June 2026 from 1pm to 2pm and offers an accessible introduction to FASD for anyone wanting to learn more about the condition and its impact on children and young people.
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is a lifelong condition that can occur when a baby is exposed to alcohol during pregnancy. FASD can affect learning, behaviour, emotional regulation, communication, memory and daily living skills. Greater awareness and understanding can help families, communities and professionals provide more effective support.
The session will include:
- An introduction to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
- Information about how prenatal alcohol exposure can affect development and learning
- Insights into the challenges individuals with FASD may experience
- A live question and answer session with opportunities to ask questions and share experiences
