Bupa Foundation Green Community Grants Open for Applications
The Bupa Foundation Green Community Grants programme is now open for applications, offering grants of between £500 and £2,000 for practical projects that support both people’s health and the health of the planet.
Delivered in partnership with Groundwork UK, the fund supports projects that make local places and spaces greener, healthier and more accessible for communities.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to:
- Non-fee-paying schools
- Registered charities
- Not-for-profit organisations
- Local authorities
- Social housing providers
The programme is open across the UK, Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands.
What Will Be Prioritised?
For 2026, priority will be given to projects that:
- Improve existing green spaces or create new ones in cities
- Are based in areas of greatest need, particularly the top 20% most deprived areas
- Are in priority locations including London, Staines, Brighton, Leeds, Greater Manchester, Dublin and Glasgow
- Have not previously received a Bupa Foundation Green Community Grant
- Clearly show benefits for both people’s health and the planet
Example Projects
Eligible project ideas could include:
- Improving a community garden for local activities
- Tree, flower or wildlife planting to support biodiversity and air quality
- Creating an outdoor classroom, forest school or natural play area
- Developing a community food growing space
- Installing green or living walls
- Planting to reduce flooding
- Making a green space more accessible
- Creating a small “pocket park” for community wellbeing
Deadline
Applications close at 11:59pm on Tuesday 30 June 2026.
Funding decisions are expected by the end of September 2026, with around 175 projects expected to receive support.
