Energy Resilience Fund offers support with energy costs for community organisations in England

Community businesses, charities and social enterprises in England can apply for financial support to help reduce energy costs and improve the sustainability of their buildings through the Energy Resilience Fund.

The fund is financed by Power to Change and delivered by Key Fund. It provides a blended package of loan and grant finance to support capital projects that improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and help organisations manage rising energy costs.

Funding of between £10,000 and £150,000 is available. Most of the support is provided as a loan, with up to 40% available as a grant where this can be justified. Loan repayment terms start from a minimum of 12 months and can extend up to seven years.

Organisations that have not yet completed an energy audit may also be able to apply for an Energy Audit Grant of between £500 and £2,500.

The fund can support projects such as retrofitting community buildings, installing insulation, solar panels or other energy-saving and energy-generating technologies. The aim is to help organisations lower running costs, improve energy resilience and reduce their environmental impact.

To be eligible, applicants must be based in England and be a community business, charity or social enterprise. They must either own their building or hold a long-term lease, and must be able to show that they are unable to access finance from mainstream banks.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with no fixed closing date.
