Many people in our communities live with more than one long-term health condition, and we know that managing day-to-day life can be complex, exhausting, and often misunderstood.

Researchers at the University of Derby are inviting people with lived experience of multiple long-term health conditions to take part in a piece of research that aims to better understand the emotional and psychological impact of managing more than one condition at the same time.

This is about listening — really listening — to people’s stories, challenges and strengths.

Who is this for?

You may want to take part if you:

  • Are 18 or over

  • Live with two or more long-term health conditions (such as diabetes, COPD, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, or similar)

  • Have regular contact with your GP or primary care services

What would taking part involve?

  • A one-to-one conversation lasting around 45–60 minutes
  • Held online via Microsoft Teams, at a time that suits you
  • A safe, confidential and supportive space to talk
  • You are free to skip questions or stop at any point

Why your voice is important

  • By sharing your experiences, you can help:
  • Shine a light on the real-life impact of managing multiple conditions
  • Improve understanding of what support works — and what doesn’t
  • Influence future thinking around services and care
  • Your insight could help ensure that services better reflect the realities faced by people in our communities.
