Tech Grants Available.
Apply for WCIT Charity’s IT4Good Grants: Tech that makes a difference
What they fund (in plain English)
- Projects that use IT for social impact: digital inclusion, skills training, STEM/EdTech.
- Tech that helps charities work smarter: apps, platforms, data, cyber, assistive tech.
- Activities that help people better understand and benefit from technology.
Typical awards are modest and focused on clear outcomes and value for money.
Who can apply
- UK-registered charities and constituted not-for-profits (including CICs).
- Organisations with at least a basic governance track record (policies, accounts).
- Projects where the grant covers a meaningful share of costs.
Very new start-ups or projects with minimal reach may be less likely to be funded.
Beyond grants: pro-bono tech expertise
WCIT can also connect charities with senior IT professionals for strategic pro-bono support—ideal if you need help scoping, governing or delivering your tech project.
How to apply (quick steps)
- Read the guidance & start your application on the WCIT Charity website.
- Explain the problem and your tech solution—why IT is the right lever.
- Show the difference you’ll make—who benefits, how many, and how you’ll measure change.
- Budget clearly and show value for money and sustainability.
- Evidence capability—brief track record, partners and references if requested.
Tips to stand out
- User-led design: show how beneficiaries shaped the idea.
- Security & ethics: cover data protection and responsible use of AI if relevant.
- Scaling & legacy: explain what happens after the grant—maintenance, licences, training.
- Combine grant + pro-bono: request expert help alongside funding for a stronger delivery plan.
