Men's Mental Health - Call to action - An opportunity to inform national strategy.
The Department of Health and Social Care has opened a 12‑week call for evidence to inform England’s first ever Men’s Health Strategy. This marks a critical opportunity for the VCSE sector to shape national policy.
Why It Matters
- Men in England live on average four years fewer than women.
- Suicide is currently the leading cause of death among men under 50.
- Other major health risks include cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and mental health challenges.

- VCSE organisations and other stakeholders

- Insights on prevention, diagnosis and treatment strategies
- Ideas to boost men’s engagement with healthcare services

What's Next
Feedback will inform a new strategy to be published by the end of 2025, as part of the NHS's broader Plan for Change initiative.
