Call for Evidence: Men’s Health Strategy – VCSE Engagement

The Department of Health and Social Care has opened a 12‑week call for evidence to inform England’s first ever Men’s Health Strategy. This marks a critical opportunity for the VCSE sector to shape national policy.


Why It Matters

  • Men in England live on average four years fewer than women.
  • Suicide is currently the leading cause of death among men under 50.
  • Other major health risks include cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and mental health challenges.

  • Insights on prevention, diagnosis and treatment strategies

  • Closing date: 11:59pm, 17 July 2025 (extended to 15 August for BSL respondents)

What's Next

Feedback will inform a new strategy to be published by the end of 2025, as part of the NHS's broader Plan for Change initiative.
