Slavery Remembrance Day Commemoration – Saturday 22 August 2026

H.A.C.A. & Partners are inviting communities across Hull to come together for a Slavery Remembrance Day Commemoration on Saturday 22 August 2026, from 3pm to 5pm.

Taking place at 

• HACA Centre Gardens,  25–26 Park Street, Hull, HU2 8RR, 

The event will provide an opportunity to remember those affected by slavery, reflect on its continuing legacy and recognise the importance of building a fairer and more inclusive future.

Slavery Remembrance Day provides an important opportunity not only to acknowledge the experiences and suffering of those affected by the transatlantic slave trade, but also to recognise the resilience, culture and contributions of Black communities and to consider how the lessons of history can inform the choices we make today.

Community organisations, partners, residents and anyone who would like to show their support are warmly invited to attend.
