Shores Homecare Ltd is inviting VCSE organisations, community groups, professionals, carers and local residents to attend its Dementia Awareness Day on Wednesday 16 September, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Shores Centre.

The event will bring together dementia support services, community organisations and people with lived experience to raise awareness of dementia and showcase the range of support available across the local area.

Visitors will have the chance to connect with local services, gather information and advice, and hear from expert speakers throughout the day. A range of interactive and accessible activities will also be available, making the event welcoming for people living with dementia, carers, families and professionals alike.


What's happening?

Attendees can look forward to:

  • Information, advice and support from local dementia services
  • Expert keynote speakers
  • Interactive virtual reality experiences
  • Virtual interactive table activities
  • Virtual pets demonstrations
  • VR training opportunities
  • The opportunity to meet members of the local Alzheimer's Society team and learn more about support available for individuals and families affected by dementia

A dementia bus experience will also be available, although places are limited and booking is required.

Stall spaces are available for dementia-related services, support organisations and groups that would like to showcase their work, share resources and connect with members of the community.
