The University's taster sessions are aimed at people from a wide range of backgrounds, whether you're already working in your chosen field or exploring a new direction.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

MA Social Justice and Community Engagement
If you're passionate about creating positive social change, the MA Social Justice and Community Engagement offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of communities, inequality and social action.

The programme has been developed for professionals and volunteers already making a difference, including:

• Community development practitioners
• Youth workers
• Charity and voluntary sector professionals
• Housing and health professionals
• Educators
• Local government officers
• Community activists

The course focuses on connecting theory with practice, helping students develop the confidence to influence change within their organisations and communities.

Working with Children, Young People and Families
The Accelerated Two-Year Degree in Working with Children, Young People and Families is ideal for anyone wanting to build a rewarding career supporting children, young people and families.

Endorsed by the Social Pedagogy Professional Association (SPPA), the programme combines professional placements with contemporary approaches to practice, preparing graduates for careers such as:

• Community Development Worker
• Advocacy Worker
• Pastoral Coordinator
• Wellbeing Coordinator
• Youth and Family Practitioner
• A wide range of roles across the children's workforce

Students develop strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches that help children, families and communities thrive.

Youth & Community Work
Explore how youth workers support young people and communities through participation, professional practice and social justice, while discovering how academic learning is applied in real-world settings.

Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion (SENDI)
Discover inclusive approaches that remove barriers to learning and celebrate diversity, while exploring how research, policy and practice improve outcomes for children, young people and adults with SEND.

TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
Learn how this internationally recognised programme prepares graduates to teach English confidently and creatively across a range of educational settings, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
