#JustDont – Challenging Harassment Starts with All of Us
Everyone has the right to feel safe in their community.
The #JustDont campaign, led by the Humber Violence Prevention Partnership (VPP) and funded by theOffice of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside, encourages men and boys to challenge everyday harassment, abuse and harmful behaviour towards women and girls.
The campaign is built around a simple message: even if it's your mate, just say something.
Developed in collaboration with young men aged 15–25, the campaign recognises that many people know when behaviour isn't acceptable but don't always feel confident to intervene. #JustDont provides practical, safe ways to challenge inappropriate behaviour, support others and help change the culture.
Why it matters
Research shows that 86% of young women in the UK have experienced sexual harassment in public spaces. Harassment and abuse can happen anywhere – on nights out, in workplaces, online, at sporting events and in everyday life. Preventing it is everyone's responsibility.
How the VCSE sector can help
As trusted organisations within our communities, VCSE organisations can play an important role by:
- Sharing the campaign through your networks and social media.
- Displaying campaign materials in your venues.
- Encouraging conversations about respect, consent and healthy relationships.
- Supporting staff, volunteers and service users to challenge harmful behaviour safely.
- Helping create communities where everyone feels safe and respected.
Small actions can make a big difference.
