Postcode Neighbourhood Trust (North of England) Closes 1st July
Voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across the North of England will soon have the opportunity to secure flexible, longer-term funding through the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust.
Round 2 of the 2026 funding programme opens at 9am on 24 June and closes at 12 noon on 1 July 2026, offering eligible organisations the chance to apply for up to £50,000 over three years.
About the Fund
This funding programme is designed to strengthen organisations and support meaningful, long-term impact in communities. Funding is unrestricted, allowing organisations to decide how best to use the grant to sustain and develop their work.
With three funding rounds scheduled in 2026—each open for just eight days—organisations are encouraged to prepare early, as demand for this fund is typically high.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to organisations working in the North of England that meet the following criteria:
Organisation types:
- Registered charities
- Community Interest Companies (CICs) with an asset lock (Schedule 1 and 2 only)
- Community Benefit Societies
Annual income:
- Between £10,000 and £1 million in the most recent financial year
Funding Priorities
- To be eligible, your organisation’s main activities must align with one of the fund’s 2026 priority themes:
- Preventing or reducing the impact of poverty
- Increasing participation in the arts
- Supporting marginalised groups and/or tackling inequality
- Improving mental health (with a focus on organisations addressing specific mental health issues as a core objective, rather than providing general wellbeing activities)
Priority Considerations
Due to high demand, priority may be given to organisations that:
- Have an annual income of £250,000 or below
- Operate in communities within the top 15% of the Index of Multiple Deprivation
Focus primarily on supporting marginalised groups, including (but not limited to):
- Disabled people
- Communities experiencing racial inequity
- LGBT+ communities
- Are based in areas that have not recently received funding
Why This Fund Matters
This programme offers multi-year, unrestricted funding, which is particularly valuable in the current funding climate. It allows organisations to:
- Plan ahead with greater financial stability
- Invest in core costs and organisational development
- Deepen their impact within communities
Funding decisions are typically made within four to five weeks of the application deadline, ensuring a relatively quick turnaround.
