Digital skills are becoming increasingly important in everyday life, from accessing healthcare and banking online to staying connected with family and applying for jobs. Yet many people still face barriers to using digital technology with confidence.

Community venues are often at the heart of helping people overcome those barriers.

That's why Community VISION is inviting community organisations across the East Riding to become part of the Digital Inclusion 4 All Project, creating a network of 24 Digital Hubs and FraudWatch Third Party Reporting Centres across the county.

Funding Available

To support the project, eligible community venues can apply for a £600 grant to help deliver digital inclusion activities and raise awareness of fraud prevention within their communities.

The funding is available until January 2027 and is aimed at community venues such as:

  • Community centres
  • Village halls
  • Community hubs
  • Neighbourhood venues
  • Other not-for-profit community spaces

The funding can help organisations create welcoming spaces where local people can build confidence using digital technology, access online services and learn how to stay safe from scams and fraud.

Why Digital Inclusion Matters

For many people, being digitally excluded can mean missing out on essential services, employment opportunities and social connections.

By becoming a Digital Hub, community organisations can play a vital role in helping local residents:

  • Build confidence using digital devices
  • Access online services and information
  • Improve digital skills
  • Stay connected with family and friends
  • Learn how to recognise and avoid fraud and scams
  • Reduce isolation by increasing digital confidence

Small community venues often have trusted relationships with local residents, making them ideal places to provide informal support and guidance.

Who Can Apply?

The fund is open to community venues delivering activities within the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Applications will need to demonstrate:

  • That the venue provides activities within the East Riding.
  • How the project will contribute to the aims of improving digital inclusion and raising awareness of fraud prevention.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so organisations are encouraged to express their interest as soon as possible.
