Help Inspire the Next Generation of Health & Care Professionals

Could you help a young person discover a future career in health and care?

The Hull and East Yorkshire Careers Hub is looking for health and care professionals and organisations to support the next generation of talent across our region.

As part of the legacy of the Inclusive Careers Project, funded by the Integrated Care Board (ICB), opportunities are now available for professionals and organisations to connect with schools and colleges, helping young people understand the wide range of rewarding careers available across the health and care sector.

Whether you work on the frontline, behind the scenes, in management, administration, community services, social care, allied health professions, public health or voluntary sector health services, your experience could help inspire a young person to consider a career they may never have previously imagined.

Would you be willing to volunteer a small amount of your time to support local schools?

The Careers Hub is seeking industry experts to deliver engaging insight sessions for Year 9 students, sharing:

• Your career journey
• What a typical day looks like
• Skills and qualities needed in your role
• Progression pathways and opportunities
• The realities and rewards of working in health and care

These sessions form part of a modern approach to work experience, helping young people gain real-world insight into careers before making important education and career choices.

To make participation as easy as possible, all resources will be provided, including:

• Presentation slide decks
• Student workbooks
• Session plans and supporting materials

Delivery will begin from September 2026.

Health & Care Career Leader Directory

As a legacy of the Inclusive Careers Project, the Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) Careers Hub is developing a Health and Care Directory to support Careers Leaders in building meaningful connections with industry professionals.

The directory will include:

• Health and care organisations
• Industry specialists
• Careers-related activities available to schools and colleges
• Key contact information

The aim is to make it easier for Careers Leaders to access relevant employer engagement opportunities, helping to inspire young people and strengthen links between education and the health and care sector.
