Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance Launches £50,000 Research and Innovation Funding Awards
Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations across Humber and North Yorkshire are being encouraged to apply for a new round of Cancer Research and Innovation Funding Awards launched by the Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance.
Now in its third year, the funding scheme aims to support projects that can help improve cancer outcomes through research, innovation and collaboration.
Subject to final approval from NHS England, organisations can apply for awards of up to £50,000 to develop projects aligned with priorities in the NHS Plan and National Cancer Plan.
Funding Priorities
The programme is designed to support initiatives that contribute to improvements in:
- Earlier and Faster Diagnosis
- Treatment
- Recovery
- Patient Experience
The Cancer Alliance is particularly keen to encourage organisations across the system to bring forward evidence-based ideas, innovative approaches and collaborative proposals that can improve cancer care and support people living with cancer.
Who Can Apply?
The funding opportunity is open to a wide range of organisations, including:
- Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations
- Primary and secondary care organisations
- Academic institutions
- Social care providers and wider system stakeholders
Partnership and collaborative applications are strongly encouraged.
For VCSE organisations, this represents an opportunity to showcase community-led approaches, lived experience insight and innovative support models that can strengthen cancer services across the region.
Funding Available and Key Dates
- Maximum award: £50,000 per project
- Applications open: Monday 1 June 2026
- Application deadline: Sunday 28 June 2026
- Funding decisions expected: August 2026
