Heart Research UK – Healthy Heart Grants:
Healthy Heart Grants open for community projects in the North of England
Small charities and community interest companies in the North of England can now apply for a Healthy Heart Grant of up to £15,000.
The grants are provided by Heart Research UK and support new community projects that help adults improve their heart health and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Projects should focus on people who may be more at risk of heart problems in the future, including vulnerable or isolated groups. Heart Research UK is especially interested in projects that have the potential to make a strong impact and use creative ways to encourage healthier lifestyles.
Projects must focus mainly on one or more of these areas:
- nutrition and healthy eating
- physical activity
- smoking
- alcohol consumption
Funding can be used for costs needed to deliver the project, such as staff time, overheads and equipment.
Projects must run for at least three months and no longer than 12 months.
Who can apply
Small registered charities and CICs with an annual income of less than £1 million can apply.
Applicants should understand the needs of the community they want to support and show how their project will respond to those needs.
The England North round covers areas including Tees Valley and Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Cumbria, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Yorkshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, and Northamptonshire.
