Small UK charities can apply for grants of up to £2,500 to improve their digital presence through the Fat Beehive Foundation.

The Foundation supports charities that need help with specific digital projects, recognising that improving online presence can be transformational but is often difficult for smaller organisations to fund.

What can be funded?
Funding can support a wide range of digital projects that help charities reach more people, raise more funds and deliver greater impact.

Examples include:

  • Building a new website
  • Developing online resources
  • Improving digital accessibility
  • Creating or improving digital tools linked to a clear project

The Foundation’s grants are intended to support specific digital projects, rather than general IT costs.

Who can apply?
Applications are open to UK-based charities with an annual turnover of under £1 million.

The trustees are particularly keen to support traditionally hard-to-fund organisations, including charities working with:

  • Prisoners
  • Refugees
  • Disadvantaged young people

What is not funded?
The Foundation states that it does not fund general IT needs. This includes:

  • General software or hardware procurement, such as laptops, servers or licences not tied to a digital project
  • Core costs or staff salaries
  • Organisations without the capacity to deliver the proposed project
  • Organisations currently working with, or intending to work with, Fat Beehive Ltd
  • Organisations set up to promote religion

How much is available?

Grants of up to £2,500 are available. Applicants will need to provide a supporting quote for the work they want funded.

Deadline: Applications are reviewed at trustee meetings twice a year, in April and October. The next deadline listed by the Foundation is 30 September 2026.

How to apply: Charities should first check their eligibility through the Fat Beehive Foundation website and then apply online
