UK Youth Fund Opens: Multi-Year Grants to Strengthen Youth Organisations
Youth organisations across the UK now have an exciting opportunity to secure flexible, multi-year funding thanks to the newly launched UK Youth Fund, delivered by UK Youth in partnership with Pears Foundation.
What is the UK Youth Fund?
The UK Youth Fund is a £10 million national programme designed to strengthen the financial resilience and long-term sustainability of small youth and outdoor learning organisations working in areas of high deprivation.
Unlike many traditional grants, this funding is unrestricted, meaning organisations can use it where it’s needed most — from staffing and core costs to programme delivery and organisational development.
What Funding is Available?
Grants are awarded over a three-year period, offering stability and confidence for organisations planning ahead.
Funding is typically around 10% of your annual turnover per year
Example:
- If your organisation’s turnover is £250,000
- You could receive up to £25,000 per year for three years
This flexible approach allows organisations to grow sustainably and respond to community needs.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, organisations must:
- Be a charity or not-for-profit youth organisation
- Have been operating for at least two years
- Have an annual turnover of £500,000 or less
- Support young people aged 8–25 (at least 70% of beneficiaries)
- Deliver work in areas within the top 30% most deprived (Index of Multiple Deprivation)
This ensures funding reaches communities where it can have the greatest impact.
What Can the Funding Be Used For?
Because the funding is unrestricted, it can support:
- Core organisational costs
- Staff salaries and development
- Youth programme delivery
- Capacity building and sustainability work
This flexibility is particularly valuable in helping organisations remain resilient during challenging times.
