VCSE

Christian charities and organisations across the UK and Ireland can now access funding through the Community Impact Grants Programme, delivered by Benefact Trust. This programme supports projects that create meaningful, lasting change within communities.

What is the Community Impact Grants Programme?

The programme is designed to support Christian organisations in delivering projects that have a positive and transformative impact on individuals and communities. Whether you are developing new initiatives or expanding existing work, this fund offers flexible support to help bring your ideas to life.

What Can Be Funded?

Projects must align with one or more of the following priorities:

  • Growing congregations and Christian communities
  • Addressing social challenges within local communities
  • Enabling wider community use of church buildings
  • Supporting and empowering Christian education

This broad criteria allows organisations to respond to both faith-based and community-focused needs.

How Much Funding is Available?

Multi-year grants are available for up to three years

Funding can cover both:

  • Capital costs (e.g. building improvements)
  • Revenue costs (e.g. staffing, project delivery)

This makes it suitable for both infrastructure projects and service delivery.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is open to:

  • Christian charities and organisations
  • Groups operating across the UK and Ireland
  • Organisations delivering projects that benefit both church communities and the wider public

Applications are open year-round, giving organisations the flexibility to apply when they are ready.

This Matters

Faith-based organisations often play a vital role in supporting communities—providing not only spiritual guidance, but also practical help, social connection and essential services. This funding recognises that contribution and helps strengthen the ability of Christian organisations to respond to local needs, social challenges and opportunities for growth.
