A new funding opportunity is now open for charities supporting people experiencing homelessness, as the Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust invites applications for its second funding round of 2026.

What Is the Fund About?

The Trust operates a rotational funding programme, focusing on different themes each year. In 2026, the spotlight is on homelessness and those at risk of homelessness.

Round 2 will prioritise projects that:

  • Support people currently experiencing or at risk of homelessness
  • Help individuals develop practical life skills
  • Promote independence and long-term stability

This includes initiatives focused on:

  • Food education and cooking skills
  • Healthy living and wellbeing
  • Budgeting and financial management

Who Is the Funding For?

This round is specifically aimed at:

UK-registered charities only (CICs and other structures are not eligible)

Organisations with a minimum annual income of £1 million

Projects supporting individuals facing significant life transitions

Priority will be given to people who are:

  • Leaving the armed forces
  • Leaving prison
  • Leaving care

How Much Can You Apply For?

Grants of £5,000 are available

Charities can apply for one round per calendar year

Applications are only open for a limited window, so early preparation is key
