Join the 2026 Howden Rotary Charity Walk – A Great Day Out for a Great Cause

Local VCSE organisations are invited to take part in the Howden Rotary Charity Walk, returning on Sunday 26 April 2026. This much‑loved community event is a brilliant opportunity for charities, community groups and families to come together, raise funds, and enjoy a relaxed spring walk along the river.

Starting and finishing at Goole RUFC (Westfield Lane, DN14 5PW), the route covers approximately 5 miles of accessible paths along the River Ouse, through Airmyn, The Paddocks and Park Road before returning riverside to the club. It’s designed as a family‑friendly walk suitable for all ages, and dogs on leads are welcome.

Your Cause, Your Impact

There’s no entry fee, and every participant is free to raise sponsorship for the charity or community organisation of their choice. For VCSE groups, it’s a straightforward way to engage supporters, bring teams together and boost fundraising with minimal organising—Rotary provides all event support, stewarding and safety planning.

Event Details

• Registration: From 8:00am (or via email beforehand)
• Walk start time: 8:30am
• Total distance: 5 miles
• Refreshments: Available mid‑route and at the finish
• Parking: Free at Goole RUFC
• Safety: Marshals, clear route markers and an emergency contact number provided
• Families & Young People: Children in Year 7 and below must be accompanied
• Close‑down: Walk support ends at 11:00am

All walkers must register on arrival and book out at the end, ensuring everyone returns safely.
