Funding Opportunity – Focused on Primary Schools
Important: This funding is only open to primary schools.
Tesco Mobile is offering funding to support online safety education in primary schools, helping children develop the skills and awareness they need to navigate the digital world safely.
The funding will support projects that:
- Educate children about online safety
- Build confidence in using the internet responsibly
- Raise awareness of risks such as scams, cyberbullying and misinformation
How the VCSE Sector Can Get Involved
While VCSE organisations are not eligible to apply directly, you play a vital role in connecting with schools and supporting communities.
We would encourage VCSE organisations to:
- Nominate a local primary school in your community
- Share this opportunity with schools you already work with
- Offer to support delivery of projects or workshops if funding is secured
This is a great way to strengthen partnerships with local schools while ensuring children in your community benefit from this support.
How to Apply
Primary schools can apply directly through the Tesco Mobile Little Helps programme:
Apply here: https://www.tescomobile.com/why-tesco-mobile/little-helps/online-safety
Applications should outline:
- The need within the school community
- How the funding will improve online safety awareness
- The intended impact on pupils
Free Resources Available
Alongside funding, Tesco Mobile has developed a range of free, downloadable resources that are available to everyone, including VCSE organisations.
These include:
- Online safety guides for children and families
- Practical teaching and support materials
- AI and internet safety resources, helping explain new technologies in an accessible way
- Content that can be used in workshops, youth sessions and community settings
These resources can be particularly useful for organisations delivering youth work, family support or digital inclusion programmes.
Why This Matters
Children are growing up in an increasingly digital world, and ensuring they have the knowledge to stay safe online is essential. By working together, schools and the VCSE sector can help build safer, more informed communities.
