VCSE

As part of No Smoking Day 2026, local partners are coming together to offer a FREE Mouth Cancer Screening Event for the community in Beverley.

  • Smoking remains one of the main causes of mouth cancer. The good news is that most people recover if mouth cancer is found early — which is why early checks and raising awareness are so important.

Event Details

  • Wednesday 11th March 2026
  • 10:00am – 3:30pm
  • Tesco Car Park, Beverley

No appointment needed – everyone welcome

The event is being delivered in partnership with City Health Dental and City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP).

What’s On Offer?

  • FREE mouth cancer screening
  • Advice on spotting early signs and symptoms
  • Support and information about stopping smoking
  • Healthy lifestyle advice from local health and wellbeing services

This is a great opportunity for residents to take a proactive step in looking after their health — particularly smokers, ex-smokers, or anyone concerned about symptoms such as persistent ulcers, red or white patches, or unexplained lumps in the mouth

Why This Matters

No Smoking Day is about more than quitting smoking — it’s about raising awareness of the serious health risks associated with tobacco use and encouraging people to seek support.

For the VCSE sector and community organisations, this is a valuable opportunity to:

  • Share the event with service users and networks
  • Encourage early screening among higher-risk groups
  • Promote wider healthy lifestyle support
  • Early detection saves lives. A quick screening could make all the difference.
  • Please help spread the word across Beverley and surrounding communities.
