VCSE

The McCarthy Stone Foundation has launched its latest Dementia Grants Programme, offering around 20 grants of up to £7,500 to support organisations delivering dementia clubs, memory cafés and carer support initiatives.

This funding aims to strengthen community-based support for older people living with dementia — particularly in areas experiencing high levels of deprivation.

What Funding Is Available?

  • Up to £7,500 per organisation
  • Approximately 20 grants available
  • Funding to cover project costs

Eligible activities include:

  • Running dementia clubs
  •  Delivering memory cafés
  • Providing carer support courses

The programme focuses on helping organisations create welcoming, supportive spaces that reduce isolation and improve wellbeing for people living with dementia and those who care for them.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are welcome from organisations in:

  • England
  • Scotland
  • Wales

Priority will be given to groups working in areas of higher deprivation (please refer to the Foundation’s guidance notes for the specified locations).

This funding recognises the vital role local community groups play in tackling loneliness, offering peer support, and improving quality of life for people affected by dementia.

Key Date

  • Application deadline: 16 March 2026 at 17:00

Why This Matters for the VCSE Sector

For many smaller VCSE organisations, sustaining dementia-focused activities can be challenging, particularly in areas where demand is high and resources are limited. This programme offers valuable funding to help maintain and grow essential community-based provision.

If your organisation runs — or is planning to start — a dementia club, memory café or structured carer support course, this could be a timely opportunity to secure dedicated funding.
