Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of people affected by domestic abuse?
All current East Riding Domestic Abuse Champions, and anyone interested in becoming a Domestic Abuse Champion within their agency, are invited to attend this full-day learning and networking event.
About the Event
The Domestic Abuse Champions Event is designed to support you in your role by strengthening your knowledge, confidence, and understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on victims and survivors. The day will provide opportunities to hear from both local and national experts, explore emerging themes, and reflect on how we can improve responses across agencies.
Whether you are an established Champion or considering taking on the role, this event will equip you with insight, practical learning, and the chance to connect with others working across the system.
What to Expect
The programme includes a range of speakers covering key issues in domestic abuse, including:
- The Voice of the Child – survivor perspective and activism
- Polish women’s experiences of domestic abuse in the UK and how services can respond effectively
- Navigating immigration issues when supporting migrant victims of domestic abuse
- Key themes from local Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDRs)
- Domestic abuse and multiple disadvantage
- Male victims of domestic abuse
- Breaking barriers – enhancing domestic abuse reporting for Black, Asian and minoritised women
