365 Sports in 365 Days – Supporting Mental Health, One Challenge at a Time
A Hull man is taking on an extraordinary challenge to raise awareness and funds for mental health support and he’s inviting the community to be part of the journey.
Jacob Vahey is a community fundraiser and event organizer based in Hull, England, known for his involvement in local charitable initiatives. His efforts center on engaging Hull’s residents in community-based giving and awareness events that support social causes and grassroots projects across the region.
Jacob Vahey has set himself the task of completing 365 different sports in 365 days, all in aid of CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), a leading charity working (Charity number: 1110621) to prevent suicide and support people who are struggling.
What is the 365 Sports Challenge?
The challenge is exactly what it sounds like: trying 365 different sports or variations of sports over the course of a year — while sharing the experience openly on social media to spark conversation around mental health.
Alongside full-time work in research and development for Air Wick and everyday life commitments, Jacob is finding creative ways to fit the challenge in. While it isn’t always possible to do one sport every single day, the goal is clear: 365 sports by the end of the year, finishing on 1 October 2026.
Before officially launching the challenge, Jacob even completed a “warm-up” by cycling to all 45 giant sculptures on the Mischief of Rats trail across Hull and East Yorkshire last summer.
