New Funding for Employability Projects Across the UK
UK-registered charities working to improve employability outcomes can now apply for multi-year funding through the Aberdeen Group Charitable Trust’s Initiatives Fund. Grants of £600,000 to £1 million over three years are available to support large-scale, impact-driven employability programmes.
The funding follows the merger of the Aberdeen Group Charitable Foundation and the abrdn Financial Fairness Trust. The new Trust focuses on financial capability, employability, and the role of nature in healthy communities and economies.
The Initiatives Fund, now open, is one of three funding pillars and supports direct programme delivery that creates clear pathways into fair, secure and sustainable employment. Priority will be given to charities with an annual income below £5 million, projects operating across the UK or England and Wales, and programmes supporting people aged 25 and over. Organisations located near Aberdeen’s offices in Edinburgh, London or Manchester are also encouraged to apply.
Eligible projects may include skills development, training, holistic careers guidance and progression opportunities. Funding is for direct project costs, with running costs capped at 10%.
There is a three-stage application process, with the Expression of Interest deadline on 4 February 2026. Apply Here
