Small and medium armed forces charities can now apply to the Rise Pilot Programme, a new funding opportunity designed to help organisations become stronger, more resilient, and better equipped for the future.

The programme offers grants of up to £30,000 to support charities working with people who require special consideration as a result of their service. This includes organisations supporting smaller or more complex beneficiary groups, where needs may be high but resources are often limited.

What is the Rise Pilot Programme?

The Rise Pilot Programme aims to strengthen the capacity and long-term sustainability of armed forces charities. Funding can be used to support organisational development, improve resilience, and help charities adapt to challenges so they can continue delivering vital support.

This opportunity recognises that charities working with niche or complex communities often face unique pressures, and it is designed to ensure these organisations are not left behind.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is open to small and medium-sized armed forces charities that support those who have given the most through service and now need tailored, specialist support. This includes charities working with:

  • Beneficiaries with complex or multiple needs
  • Smaller, underrepresented armed forces communities
  • Groups requiring specialist or targeted approaches

Why apply?

Funding from the Rise Pilot Programme can help charities to:

  • Strengthen internal capacity and governance
  • Build financial resilience
  • Develop skills, systems, and processes
  • Adapt services to meet changing or complex needs

Ultimately, the programme aims to help organisations continue their important work with confidence and stability.
