Applications Open: ACE Mental Health Project Grants (Up to £25,000)
UK-registered charities can now apply for grants of up to £25,000 to deliver mental health projects supporting children, young people and families affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
This funding opportunity is designed to support evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions that help prevent and overcome the long-term impact of ACEs, while also supporting parents to break cycles of trauma across generations.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to UK-registered healthcare charities that meet the following criteria:
- Annual income below £20 million
- At least five years of audited or independently examined accounts
- Charities may be regionally or nationally based
What Projects Are Funded?
The programme supports charities working with:
Children and Young People
Charities must have a specialist, single focus on one or more of the following ACE-related areas:
- Childhood sexual abuse
- Living in a household affected by domestic violence
- Physical and/or emotional neglect
- Living with a parent who has a mental illness and/or substance misuse
Projects must demonstrate a ‘children first’ approach and deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based support.
Parental and Family Support
Funding is also available for specialist charities that work exclusively with parents and families facing complex challenges, including:
- Supporting parents to confront their own ACEs
- Breaking intergenerational cycles of trauma and abuse
- Supporting families where a parent or caregiver has a mental illness or substance addiction and may be at risk of harming their children
How Can the Funding Be Used?
The funding is flexible and can:
- Contribute towards overall service delivery, or
- Support a specific project aligned with the programme’s aims
This flexibility allows organisations to strengthen existing provision or develop targeted interventions where they are most needed.
