The East Yorkshire Parent Carer Forum (EYPCF) is pleased to announce the launch of its new satellite hubs, designed to extend peer-to-peer support for parent carers across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

These satellite hubs will operate as local support groups, working in partnership with EYPCF, and will be hosted in communities across the county. The aim is to ensure more parents and carers of children and young people with SEND can access support closer to home.

Why Satellite Hubs?

The East Riding of Yorkshire spans more than 900 square miles, and while EYPCF remains committed to reaching as many parent carers as possible, it recognises that meaningful engagement requires a strong local presence.

The satellite hub model enables EYPCF to:

  • Reach families in hard-to-access and rural areas
  • Strengthen peer-to-peer support networks
  • Build stronger relationships with local services and partners
  • Better understand the needs and experiences of families in different communities

First Satellite Hub: Bridlington
The first satellite hub will launch in partnership with Christ Church Family Hub in Bridlington, which already hosts a weekly SEND coffee morning called The Well. EYPCF will join this space once a month, creating an opportunity for shared support, listening, and connection.

Planned Locations

EYPCF is working towards establishing additional satellite hubs in:

  • Hornsea
  • Gilberdyke / Goole
  • Howden
  • Brough
  • Driffield
  • Market Weighton / Pocklington
  • Withernsea

EYPCF’s monthly Cuppa and Chat in Beverley will continue alongside the new hubs.

Invitation to Partners
EYPCF warmly invites partners from the local authority, health services, and the voluntary and community sector to attend these sessions where possible. Your presence helps:

  • Support parent carers directly
  • Increase visibility of services and support
  • Build trusted relationships in local communities
  • Improve understanding of local needs and lived experience
  • Continued partner engagement will be key to the success and sustainability of the satellite hubs, particularly in harder-to-reach areas of the county.

Attending as a Partner: If you or your organisation are able to attend any of these sessions, please email EYPCF to confirm. Attendance will be shared with members in advance to help parents and carers know which partners will be present.
