#JustDont Campaign Launches Across the Humber: Creating Safer Spaces for Women and Girls
A refreshed and re-launched #JustDont campaign is now live across the Humber region, with a clear and powerful aim: to help create safer spaces for women and girls by challenging harmful attitudes and behaviours.
Commissioned by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, the campaign has been rebranded and relaunched in partnership with Hitch Marketing, following extensive research and co-creation with young men aged 15 to 22 from across the region.
What Is the #JustDont Campaign?
The #JustDont campaign focuses on preventing violence against women and girls (VAWG) by encouraging men and boys to reflect on their behaviour and take responsibility for challenging inappropriate actions when they see them.
Research carried out as part of the campaign development showed that while many young men recognise when behaviour is unacceptable, they often lack the confidence, language or tools to challenge it — particularly in peer settings.
#JustDont addresses this gap by:
- Starting conversations about respect, boundaries and responsibility
- Giving men simple, practical ways to intervene safely
- Encouraging action, whether that’s speaking up directly or seeking help from a trusted adult
The campaign recognises that positive behaviour change is possible and that men can play a vital role in creating safer communities.
Co-Created With Young Men
A key strength of the #JustDont campaign is that it has been co-created with young men, ensuring the messaging feels authentic, relatable and relevant.
By listening to young people’s experiences and perspectives, the campaign avoids lecturing or blaming, instead focusing on empowerment, responsibility and everyday actions that can make a difference.
