Have Your Say: Help Shape the Future of Adult Social Care in the East Riding
Residents across the East Riding are being encouraged to share their views on the future of adult social care, as a new public consultation launches this month.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is inviting people to take part in an online ‘Have Your Say’ survey, which will help shape future adult social care strategies and ensure services meet local needs now and in the years ahead.
Why Your Views Matter
Adult social care services support thousands of people across the East Riding, including older people, disabled adults, carers and those with long-term health conditions. These services are delivered through a combination of council-led support, tailored care and close partnership working with organisations across the voluntary and community sector.
- Feedback from this consultation will help:
- Shape future adult social care priorities
- Influence how services are designed and delivered
- Ensure support promotes independence, wellbeing and choice
- Strengthen partnership working with individuals, families and communities
The council’s vision is to create a system that delivers the right support, at the right time, in the right place, helping people live longer, healthier and more independent lives.
A Message from the Council
Councillor Jonathan Owen, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:
“We want to hear from as many people as possible, from those who are currently in contact with our services, as well as those who are not. Your feedback will help us to design services that truly reflect local needs and make a positive difference to people’s lives.”

How to Take Part

If needed, a family member or someone you trust can help you fill it in
- Survey closing date: Saturday 31 January 2026

In-Person Consultation Events
There will also be opportunities for residents to take part in in-person consultation events taking place across the East Riding early next year. These sessions will give people the chance to share their experiences and views face-to-face, helping ensure the final adult social care plan reflects local priorities and lived experience.
Details about how to attend these events will be shared at a later date.
Get Involved
This consultation is a chance for residents, carers, families and community members to help shape how adult social care works in the East Riding — now and in the future.
If you or your organisation work with people who use adult social care services, please consider sharing this opportunity and encouraging others to take part.
Together, we can help ensure adult social care services continue to support independence, dignity and wellbeing across our communities.
