VCSE

A new funding opportunity is launching this November to help address the digital and employment barriers faced by blind and vision impaired people across the UK.

The Fight for Sight Digital Inclusion Fund is offering grants of up to £30,000 for projects running between 12 and 36 months. The fund aims to support innovative initiatives that help people prepare for, secure, and thrive in employment — especially where changes in vision have created new challenges.

Funding Priorities

Projects should tackle one or more of the following priority areas — and must incorporate expertise by experience as a key part of their approach:

  • Getting ready for the workplace – helping people build confidence, skills and readiness for employment.
  • Looking for and applying for jobs – improving access to opportunities and recruitment processes.
  • Job retention and progression – supporting people to stay and grow in work, even as their vision changes.
  • Working in technology or digital support – using digital tools and accessibility innovation to improve work and learning outcomes.

Projects may span multiple areas, and collaborative approaches are strongly encouraged.

Who Can Apply

Applications are welcome from a range of UK-based charitable and community organisations, including:

  • Registered charities
  • Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs)
  • Charitable companies, limited by guarantee
  • Community Interest Companies (CICs), limited by guarantee
  • Exempt charities, such as educational institutions

Applicants must work directly with blind or vision impaired people, or with those at risk of losing their sight. Fight for Sight is keen to hear from organisations of all sizes and regions across the UK.
