About the Foundation
The 1001 Critical Days Foundation is a newly registered charity whose mission is “to promote the healthy emotional and physical development of babies and children” across the UK. The Foundation supports organisations that make a measurable difference to babies’ wellbeing and deliver integrated, stigma-free support through family hubs and other “one-stop shop” community models.
What the Funding Supports
- Projects that support babies during the first 1,001 days (pregnancy to age two).
- Support that families and carers can access without shame or stigma.
- Delivery via a family hub or similar joined-up “one-stop shop” setting.
- Work that demonstrates a meaningful, measurable impact on babies’ lives.
Funding Priorities
- Free at the point of access.
- Directly supports babies and reaches larger numbers of families.
- Creates a lasting legacy beyond the funding period.
- Has secured additional / matched funding.
- Designed for longer-term delivery (ideally 3–5 years).
Grant Details
- Amount: up to £100,000 per year.
- Duration: 2–5 years (most awards expected to be £20,000–£80,000 p.a. for 3–5 years).
- Scale: ~5–10 charities funded per round.
Eligibility
- UK-based charities established for at least 2 years.
- At least three unrelated trustees.
- Work delivered within the UK.
