Linnean Society – Our Local Nature Grants
The Linnean Society is inviting applications for its Our Local Nature Grants, supporting projects that help young people (aged 16 and under) engage with local nature and biodiversity.
What the Fund Supports
Community groups and organisations working directly with children and young people can apply for up to £1,000 (though smaller requests are encouraged) to deliver activities such as:
- Hosting a school nature festival
- Painting community murals celebrating local biodiversity
- Building or restoring a community garden
- Developing a nature walk
- Bringing in a speaker to talk about foraging or local wildlife
Eligible Costs
Grants can be used for a wide range of project expenses, including:
- Materials, room hire, and publicity
- Speakers, trainers, or freelancers
- Project-specific staff costs
- Audio-visual equipment hire
- Volunteer expenses and transportation
Key Dates Projects should start in January 2026 and be completed by June 2026
Deadline for applications: 25 October 2025 (midnight)
