The next Loneliness Awareness Week will take place from 9 - 15 June 2025. Meeting Loneliness Together, this year's theme, is all about reducing the stigma around this natural human emotion.

Loneliness is a deeply personal and often invisible experience of feeling disconnected from others, even when surrounded by people. It can affect anyone at any age and isn’t just about being alone, but about lacking meaningful social connections. Prolonged loneliness can have serious impacts on both mental and physical health, increasing the risk of anxiety, depression, heart disease, and weakened immune function. Recognising loneliness and addressing it through community, support, and understanding is vital for wellbeing and building stronger, healthier societies.
