Catcalling. Offensive comments. Feeling unsafe or changing your route just to avoid being bothered. It’s more common than people think – and far too many just put up with it. To better understand the scale of the issue, a short survey has been created to gather insight into how often this behaviour occurs, the impact it has on individuals, and how it might be affecting people’s ability or willingness to be active in public spaces.

Fitmums & Friends are teaming up with Humberside Police to launch an awareness campaign aimed at challenging inappropriate behaviour towards runners and others keeping active outdoors. The campaign also seeks to empower individuals with the confidence and knowledge of what to do if they experience harassment while out exercising.

We’d really appreciate your help in sharing the survey. It’s open to everyone, not just runners or Fitmums and Friends members. Any age, any activity, any gender. If you walk, run, cycle, or move outdoors – we want to hear from you. Your support will help shape a campaign that makes a real difference to how safe and supported people feel when staying active outdoors.
