Please join this introductory webinar organised by  East Riding of Yorkshire's Public Health team on Tuesday 19 March 2024 1:00-4:00pm and help shape the future of healthy weight in the East Riding.

We already work hard to support healthy weight in the East Riding, but evidence shows that there are more sustainable and successful ways to support residents to be happier and healthier. We want to explore a systems approach and do things differently.

This online event will include:

  • An introduction to the evidence (Dr. Angela Meadows, University of Essex)
  • The psychological impact of weight stigma (Prof. Louisa Ells, Leeds Beckett University)
  • How a new approach to weight is being implemented elsewhere (Holly Campbell, Public Health, City of Doncaster Council)
  • Resident stories and experiences of local weight and healthcare services

We would like to hear your thoughts, ideas and stories on this compassionate approach to weight. There will be a Q&A session as well as breakout groups to discuss the potential scope, benefits, and challenges of bringing this approach to the East Riding.
