Do you need help to apply for a grant from the National Lottery or other funder? Need help to recruit more volunteers including Trustees? Have an idea to support your community but need help to get it started? Then this event is for you.

Smile’s Community Development team will be in Hessle on Thursday 12th October as part of an East Riding wide tour offering free help and support to local charities and groups. The Drop-In event is taking place between 11am – 2pm, at Hessle Memorial Hall, 1A Salisbury Street, Hessle, HU12 0SE.

Commissioned by East Riding of Yorkshire Council to support community organisations and groups across the county, Smile want as many charities and groups as possible to know about their services and the free support available to them. In case you don’t already know, help includes everything to do with managing a group or charity such as governance advice; support through the grant finding and application process; a free equipment hire service, guidance on how to attract and manage volunteers and finding and undertaking training.

The team will be joined by a variety of guests and partners, who can talk to you about everything from how to apply for grants from the National Lottery, how to search for grants on the East Riding 4 Community website, accessing health and wellbeing support and activities locally, digital inclusion advice, free e-learning you can access, DBS checks and safeguarding advice.

If you can’t make the event but need advice, please do get in touch so we can arrange to meet with one of our team.
