James Tudor Foundation Physical Health Grants Open for Applications
UK charities delivering physical health services can now apply for funding through the James Tudor Foundation’s Physical Health Grants Programme, with Expressions of Interest opening on 1 July 2026.
Grants of up to £25,000 are available to support charities working in physical health, particularly those delivering therapeutic interventions, health information services and direct healthcare.
Who can apply?
The programme is open to UK-registered healthcare charities that:
- Deliver services within the UK
- Have an annual income of less than £20 million
- Have at least five years of audited or independently examined accounts
What will be funded?
The Foundation supports organisations delivering:
Evidence-based physical therapies for:
- People living with neurodegenerative physical conditions and/or neuromuscular conditions
- People living with physical disabilities
- People recovering from life-changing injuries
Specialist single-condition charities
This includes national charities providing information and support relating to a specific health condition through:
- Nurse-led helplines
- Digital resources
- Printed information materials
Direct healthcare services for inclusion health groups
Including organisations supporting:
- People experiencing homelessness
- Street sex workers
- Vulnerable migrants
Air ambulance charities
Funding is also available to air ambulance charities operating in:
- South West England
- Wales
- Scotland
- Northern Ireland
Priority areas
The Foundation is particularly interested in supporting charities that:
- Address unmet need
- Demonstrate strong sector expertise
- Have a clear and well-defined organisational strategy
- Provide condition-specific information and support
- Deliver services through qualified specialist professionals
Additional priority may be given to organisations that:
- Support people with life-limiting and/or degenerative conditions
- Hold PIF Tick certification and/or are members of the Helplines Partnership
- Provide services free of charge or at a highly subsidised rate
- Are primarily reliant on charitable trusts and foundations for funding
Flexible funding
Funding is intended to contribute towards the overall delivery of services and core activities. However, grants may also be awarded towards specific projects where appropriate.
How to apply
Applications are made through a two-stage process. The current funding round is for projects that will be funded in Spring 2027.
