VCSE

The vibrant and inclusive Handsong Festival is set to take place in Hull this summer, bringing together communities from across the UK to celebrate the beauty of music through British Sign Language (BSL).

Taking place on Saturday 11 July 2026 at 6.00pm at Jubilee Central, 62 King Edward Street, Hull (HU1 3SQ), the festival will showcase the unique and powerful art of visual music performance.

Celebrating Inclusion Through Music and BSL

Handsong Festival offers a truly inclusive musical experience, where songs are expressed visually through British Sign Language. Signing choirs from across the UK will perform, demonstrating how music can be experienced beyond sound, making it accessible and enjoyable for Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing audiences alike.

This event is a celebration of the rich and diverse BSL-using community and highlights the importance of accessibility in arts and culture. It provides a powerful platform for connection, creativity, and shared experience.
