Holi, the Festival of Colours, is a joyful celebration observed by many across South Asian communities and around the world.

Rooted in faith and tradition, Holi symbolises the triumph of good over evil, the arrival of spring, and the power of unity and renewal.

For many, it is a time to come together with family, friends and neighbours, sharing laughter, food and vibrant colours that represent joy, hope and new beginnings.

Holi is a popular Hindu festival, often known as the “Festival of Colours,” celebrated by millions of people.

It marks the arrival of spring and symbolises the triumph of good over evil, as well as joy, renewal and new beginnings. One of the most well-known traditions involves people gathering to throw coloured powders, alongside sharing food and spending time with family, friends and the wider community.

Recognising celebrations such as Holi is an important part of our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). It is an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultures, faiths and traditions that make our communities stronger, and to honour the contributions of our South Asian colleagues, volunteers and community members.

We wish everyone celebrating a joyful and colourful Holi.
