Boosting Advice Fund – third funding round now open
This is a significant funding opportunity for charities supporting older people facing financial hardship.
Independent Age is now accepting applications to the Boosting Advice Fund, offering three-year grants of up to £150,000 (£50,000 per year).
What is the fund aiming to achieve?
In this third round, up to £1.6 million is available for projects that improve the quality, reach and accessibility of advice for older people, particularly around financial wellbeing.
- Funded projects should help to deliver outcomes such as:
- More older people accessing financial wellbeing advice and support
- Improved access to in-person, skilled advisers
- Increased take-up of benefits and entitlements
- Reductions in household costs
- Greater reach and engagement with older people facing financial hardship
- Stronger organisational capacity and resources
- Improved understanding of, and engagement with, older people experiencing inequality
Priority groups
Priority will be given to projects supporting people aged 65 and over, particularly:
- People living in one-person households
- Women
- People from racially minoritised communities
- Private and social renters
- Carers
- Disabled people and those with long-term conditions
Where must projects take place?
Projects must be delivered in one of the following target locations:
- Kingston upon Hull
- Nottingham
- North London (Camden, Islington and Haringey)
- Argyll and Bute
- Highlands
- Na h-Eileanan an Iar
- Orkney
- Shetland
- Wrexham
Who can apply?
- Registered charities only
- Projects must focus on advice provision related to financial hardship
- There is a two-stage application process
Application process and deadline
Organisations must first submit an online Expression of Interest.
Only shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a full application.
