The UK Government, via the National Workforce Programme, is making up to £12 million available over three years (April 2026 – March 2029) to build the capacity, skills and career pathways of the homelessness and rough-sleeping workforce in England.

Why this matters

The homelessness sector is facing increasing demand alongside recruitment, retention and skills challenges. This fund aims to:

  • Strengthen workforce capacity (“Foundations”)
  • Expand training and professional development (“Training”)
  • Enhance specialist advice services (“Advice”)
  • Support community-based organisations tackling homelessness (“Community”)

  • Amount available: Up to £12 million
  • Duration: Three years (projects running April 2026 – March 2029)
  • Applications open: Midday 12 November 2025
  • Deadline: 5pm, 10 December 2025
  • Who can apply: Organisations working in homelessness and rough-sleeping services (consortia and partnerships are encouraged)
