Webinar: The internet, suicide and self-harm —
Samaritans are running a free, practitioner-focused webinar to help you have safer conversations about online activity related to suicide and self-harm, understand risks and benefits of the online environment, and learn practical steps you can take to support people.
Who is it for?
Anyone who provides support around suicide and self-harm — including VCSE staff and volunteers, health and social care professionals, youth workers, education staff, housing and criminal justice partners.
What you’ll learn
- How people use the internet in relation to self-harm and suicide.
- What the Online Safety Act means for self-harm and suicide content online.
- The role practitioners can play in supporting people and responding to concerns.
- How to talk to people about their online use in a safe, supportive way.
- How Samaritans can support you in your role.
