Take part in the 2025 Dementia Carer Survey
Your experiences as a family dementia carer help shape services and influence government policy.
Every year Dementia Carers Count runs a national survey to gather the experiences of people caring for a family member or friend living with dementia. The insights gathered from the survey help partners better understand the different challenges carers face across the UK and strengthen advocacy and service development.
Why your voice matters
What carers tell the survey team shapes messages to government and feeds into the design of support services for family dementia carers. Last year over 1,200 carers completed the survey, sharing details of their caring roles and the key pressures they face. These responses have been used to inform policy conversations in Westminster, the Scottish Parliament and the Senedd.
Key finding to explore in 2025:Over the past three years, 9 in 10 carers who responded said they had reached a crisis point at least once in the year. This year the survey focuses on when carers struggle, what pushes them into crisis and what support would help them cope.
What the 2025 survey asks
- When and why you have struggled to provide care
- Times you felt you reached a crisis point
- The types of support you needed (or did receive) that helped you to cope
How to take part
The survey takes around 15 minutes to complete. You can complete it online, request a paper copy, or ask to complete it by phone—support is available if you prefer someone to help you.
