United Way UK and Costco Grants for Small Charities – Apply by 15 July
Each year, United Way UK, in partnership with Costco, awards 30 grants of £1,500 to small charities providing frontline services in local communities.
These grants aim to support long-term solutions in the following areas:
Education
- Early childhood development
- School readiness and success
- Out-of-school learning opportunities
- Soft skills development
Income Stability
- Job training
- Access to employment
- Support to obtain employment
- Financial literacy development
Health
- Mental health support
- Hunger prevention
- Access to housing
Who Can Apply?
Charities must:
- Be a local, not-for-profit organisation with an annual income of under £300,000
- Be delivering work in one of the following locations:
England
Birmingham, Bristol, Chester, Chingford, Coventry, Croydon, Derby, Farnborough, Gateshead, Haydock, Hayes, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Oldham, Reading, Rugby, Sheffield, Stevenage, Southampton, Sunbury, Thurrock, Watford, Wembley
Scotland
Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh
Wales
Cardiff
What Can the Funding Be Used For?
- Core operating costs
- Starting a new programme
- Expanding an existing project

- Application deadline: 15 July 2025
- Funding distributed: October 2025
- Funds must be used and reported by: 2 February 2026
