VCSE

White Ribbon is the UK’s leading charity engaging men and boys to end violence against women and girls. Community VISION has received funding through East Riding Council’s Do-it for East Yorkshire grant to provide funding, resources and support to local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations and groups working in East Riding, who wish to become a White Ribbon supporter organisation and engage with men and boys to end violence against women and girls.

They will be holding a number of sessions, online and in person, across the East Riding, which will explore a range of topics including:

• What is Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and how common is it?

• What is the impact of VAWG on people and communities?

• What does the local East Riding response to VAWG currently look like?

• How can your VCSE group/organisation help to tackle VAWG in East Riding

In addition, they will look at what the White Ribbon campaign aims to do, and how organisations can achieve White Ribbon Accredited or Supporter status. This includes an exploration of the role of White Ribbon Champions and Ambassadors, and how to put together your own White Ribbon action plan.

We will also detail the financial support we have been awarded to fund your VCSE group/organisation’s accreditation with White Ribbon UK. Light refreshments will be provided at the in-person sessions.
