VCSE

To truly tackle digital exclusion, collaboration and working in partnership is the most effective approach. VCSE groups and statutory organisations have been working to overcome digital inclusion barriers, forming the East Riding Digital Inclusion Network (ERDIN).

About

In 2022 East Riding Yorkshire Council invited VCSE groups offering digital support and other statutory partners to work as a network to tackle these barriers -

Members come from across VCSE groups and statutory partners such as Health, Education, Job Centre Plus as well as key East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) representation.

ERDIN also has representation at the Humber and North Yorkshire Health & Care Partnership's Digital Inclusion Network.

Virtual meetings are held each month online.

Current projects

A network sub-group is currently working on a triage tool to help identify digital skills levels, so users can be signposted to support in their local area or online - depending on requirements.  Currently there is no insight about digital skills levels so having a tool that gives a baseline assessment for users is invaluable. The more organisations and groups use the tool a picture will build of the digital skills level in the East Riding. This will make it much easier to identify services that are needed to improve skills and any gaps.
